To be eligible for the SECURE Summer Student Program, you must meet the following requirements:

• Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a valid work permit.
• If you are selected for a role considered safety-sensitive, you will be required to successfully complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and drug test.

Students are also required to submit a cover letter and recent transcripts. The cover letter will address the following questions:

Your Opportunity at SECURE Energy

As our Summer Student - Technical Analyst you will be responsible for assisting the Drilling Fluids Technical group with technical support, execution, and planning on general tasks including but not limited to Drilling Fluid Well Summaries, Project Offset Analysis, Project Programs, and Proposals.

This role is based out of the Brookfield Office in downtown Calgary on a full-time, Monday to Friday schedule.

The Team

The Technical Team works closely with the Sales and Operations Teams through the planning, execution, and review of process drilling fluid projects.

A Day in The Life

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Be familiar with roles & responsibilities within the Fluids Technical group and participate as required.
• Prepare well summaries/recaps and project reviews as required.
• Effectively liaise and communicate with the Sales, Operations, and Management teams to gather the critical information required for high-quality and timely deliverables.
• Assist with ideas and development of new or improved technical processes.
• Reviewing, tracking, and prioritizing task requests. Organizing and filing job-related documents accordingly.

Skills, Experience, & Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a post-secondary program in Engineering Sciences or Engineering Technology is preferred.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Strong computer and data analysis skills are considered an asset.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and handle changing priorities.
• Initiative: Proactive and self-motivated, with a willingness to take on new challenges.
• Time Management: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
• Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with familiarity with Excel and Power BI.
