Income Auditor

Duties and Responsibilities

Control:

Establishment of timely flow of information to the Financial Controller in all aspects of Income Audit in the course of her/his work and which are inconsistent to the established policy and procedures of the hotel or in areas where staff discipline are lacking.
Ensuring that established internal control measurements are routinely carried out and to highlight discrepancies to the Financial Controller when necessitated.
All house funds assigned to outlet cashiers are kept intact and used only solely for transactions in the course of duties. Foreign currencies transactions at the Front Desk are in accordance with hotel policies.

Specific Task:

Responsible for the efficient running and organization of the following:

Income Auditor Office
Front Desk Cashiering
Night Auditing
Outlet Cashiering

Ensure that all accounting records and statement comply with the standards set by hotel.
Auditing of the daily revenue figures and supporting folios and vouchers submitted by the Night Auditors.
Audit the Daily cash Summary prepared by the General Cashiers.
Complete the posting to the Income Journal from the Auditor's 'D' Report, Food and Beverage Report and General Cashier's Daily Report balances at the end of the month.
Prepare the Daily Report for the Financial Controller's approval/signature.
Prepare rebate summary and rebate journal, monitoring the sequence of rebate vouchers and complimentary vouchers used.
Supervision of Front Desk Cashiers/Night Auditors/F&B Cashier including provision of constant trainings in relation to their daily work.
Vouch authorizations for discount, complimentary given and upgrades on rooms and that F&B discounts if any are in accordance with hotel policy.
Check the room rates to ensure that they are in agreement with contract rate.
Conduct an inventory of safe deposit boxes, i.e. utilized by Room Guests, house use, vacant boxes etc. and to submit a report therein as per policy.
Inspect transportation logbook and compare with vouchers issued / transportation revenue.
Inspect the fax / long distance calls (log book) made at the business centre and check this with revenues / guest bills.
Compare banquet checks with Banquet Event Orders to ensure that all charges are included and that the higher of guaranteed or actual attendance is charged.
To implement a system of guest check controls for all F&B outlets and other minor operating departments, i.e. to check the sequence number of restaurant check.
Ensures that amended F&B checks are furnished with reasons from authorized F&B Supervisor, missing F&B checks are notified to the F&B Manager for reason / next course of action in writing.
Rooms Discrepancies reports are prepared and distributed to relevant Department Head as per policy.
On a weekly basis, to conduct a test run of guest Accounts and to ensure that totals are in agreement with the control account.
Check for any pending/holding folios at the Front Desk, seek reasons for course of actions and take-up corrective actions immediately, including keeping the Financial Controller informed.
Conduct cash count of house bank/floats in the hotel at least once a month.
To be familiar with the Finance Department Policies & Procedures and .
Have a complete understanding of the Hotel Employee Handbook and to adhere to the regulations contained therein.
Have a complete understanding of the Hotel's policy relating to fire, safety and health.
Maintain a complete understanding of the Employee Handbook and adhere to regulations contained therein.
Maintain a complete understanding of the Hotel's policy relating to fire, safety and health, and ensure all precautions are taken to safeguard against incidents for areas under your supervision.
Perform other assignments to meet business needs as directed by your superiors.
