About the role.
As the Executive Director, Truth and Healing, you are responsible for leading and shaping the Healing paradigm across the NSW Government and the way business is approached.
You will do this by establishing a comprehensive strategic direction that integrates and prioritises investment in community-focused, evidence-informed policy development.
You will leverage research and data insights to develop new programs and healing initiatives, ensuring alignment with government objectives and supporting the successful transformation of relationships between Aboriginal communities and government.
About the Truth and Healing
As the Executive Director, Truth and Healing you are responsible for Program Development, Research and Data insights and the Healing Teams.
Your teams lead programs that respond to the voice of Aboriginal people through OCHRE, Unfinished Business, Stolen Generations Organisations, reparations Treaty Commissioners and make changes by influencing reform agendas that ultimately embed Healing into the ways we work.

Tertiary qualifications in a related field such as project management, or extensive relevant experience.
Proven experience in developing and leading comprehensive frameworks that drive healing and reconciliation within Aboriginal communities.
Strong background in creating robust policy frameworks and research agendas that amplify Aboriginal voices and integrate traditional knowledge into decision-making processes.
Ability to provide strategic leadership in reform initiatives, including Truth, Treaty, and Voice, ensuring efficient program development and delivery of defined benefits.
Skilled in building consultative relationships with diverse stakeholders, ensuring all perspectives are considered in policy formulation.
Experience in providing strategic advice to senior government officials and agencies, influencing whole-of-government policies and investment strategies for Aboriginal communities.
Passionate about developing initiatives that honour commitments to Stolen Generation survivors and align with OCHRE principles.
Proficient in evaluating complex and politically sensitive issues, offering professional leadership and guidance that acknowledges historical contexts.
Capable of managing a complex policy agenda, addressing sensitive matters related to Aboriginal community disadvantage, and promoting self-determination and mutual accountability.
Expertise in ensuring alignment between Aboriginal Affairs priorities and broader government initiatives, fostering coherence in healing, policy, research, and program development.
