The primary purpose of this role is to support explosives applications, manage blasting projects, and deliver value to underground metalliferous customers in Southeast Australia (New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania) and New Zealand.Our Technical Service Technicians represent our company, providing blasting expertise and support to customers and operations teams.
They optimize blasting and implement our technology on client sites.You will engage with a diverse range of customers and sites, providing expert technical solutions for our products.
Customers depend on you to address practical blasting challenges, demonstrating your skills and enhancing their blasting performance.Orica is currently rolling out a vast array of new industry-leading technologies, which the successful applicants will be supporting:
• WebGen - Wireless blasting and initiation systems• Avatel - Semi-autonomous charging systems• 4D- Density controlled emulsion product for both open-cut and underground markets• BlastIQ - Digitising the entire Drill and Blast process• And more being developed!We are inviting applicants with 8+ years of Underground Mining experience with strong drill and blast skills.
The roster will be 8 on 6 off and will be drive in drive out (DIDO) with a vehicle provided by Orica.What you will be doingSupporting the team and customers in safe and efficient blasting practices in underground mining markets;Mentoring a wide variety of charge-up operators in the underground mining industry;Supporting standards for blasting parameters for customer sites and optimisation of drill and blast practices;Delivering training of Orica blasting systems/products and drill and blast practices to both Orica and customer operations and technical teams;Managing technical blasting projects to deliver value to our customers;Supporting national key account relationships.What you will bringUnderground Shotfiring Qualification (BUEL ticket);Advanced knowledge of the drill and blast process;Enthusiasm to mentor as a leading industry expert in drill & blast markets;Experience succeeding in project execution;Advanced understanding of best practice application of Orica explosives products.What we offerAs part of a truly global company, you will have the ability to grow and learn in a diverse, collaborative culture.
