We have an extraordinary opportunity for a Senior Underwriter to join our Industry Vertical Practice within the Multinational & Corporate Business team at QBE. Beyond regular underwriting tasks, a major focus will be on executing innovative product solutions through customer-centric insights and implementing meticulous risk management strategies specifically tailored for Education, Healthcare and Faith based industries. Your new role
A day in the role may look a bit like this:

Engage in regular meaningful meetings and build strong relationships with specific Major Trading Partners.
Utilise your expertise to underwrite new business and renewals with precision and professionalism.
Contribute to the establishment of QBE's centre of excellence in the Education, Healthcare, and Faith industries by collaborating with a fellow team of passionate Liability and Motor underwriters to go beyond just operational support.
Provide customer-centric insights, innovative product solutions, and meticulous risk management strategies that result in market-leading credentials that set new standards in the industry.
Maintain open and continuous dialogue with key functions within QBE to foster collective and aligned approaches that respond to the needs of our Major Trading Partners and Policyholders with expertise and efficiency.
Participate in forums with the wider commercial property underwriting community within QBE to keep abreast with trends, changes, best practices, and to be aligned in underwriting ethos.

About you
You are an insurance professional with proven Property Underwriting experience. Or you're aspiring to be a Property Underwriter who has either SME package underwriting, general insurance broking, property claims and/or insurance law experience.
You won't need to negotiate individual policies on a daily basis in the traditional sense of trading with insurance brokers, but you will be involved in ongoing ever-evolving discussions with a selected group of insurance brokers on major policies.
You are interested in learning new skills in this role that will likely take you down a product management path in time.
You will also have:

Demonstrated maturity to manage outcomes to complex risks and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
The ability to plan to handle peak periods smoothly and efficiently.
Keen interest in both analytics and policy wording critiquing.
Ability to effectively collaborate and work within a national team located in different locations.
Strong passion for the education and healthcare industries and staying updated on the latest trends and developments in these sectors.
An appreciation for recognising the vital role of insurance in supporting and safeguarding society.
A desire, as we build the team out, to mentor and guide junior underwriters to help them develop their skills and expertise.
