Award: Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award

Position: Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar)

Salary: $134,930 - $189,005 per annum + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.

Period of Employment: Fixed term, full time day work, 76 hours per fortnight (+ 10 hours protected training time pro rata) commencing 3 February 2025 for up to three years.

Location: Royal Hobart Hospital, Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM)

Essential Requirements:

• General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable).

Registration/licences must remain current and valid at all times while employed in this role. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.

Selection Process: Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on the following desirable criteria:

Desirable Requirements - Registrars:

• Previous clinical experience in Intensive Care Medicine, Anaesthesia, and/or Emergency Medicine, including competence in relevant procedural skills.
• Successful completion of practical acute care and resuscitation courses, such as ALS, BASIC, APLS, EMST, and formal Point of Care Ultrasound training.
• Advanced trainees with CICM, ANZCA, ACEM and/or ACRRM.
• Demonstrated experience in audit, research, teaching, and safety and quality.
• Demonstrated experience in leadership roles either within or outside of work.

Desirable Requirements - Senior Registrars & Transitional Fellows:

• A minimum of three years relevant clinical experience including at least 24 months recent experience in Intensive Care Medicine.
• Completion of CICM Primary Examination.
• Completed or near completion of final examinations for Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine, or an equivalent qualification.
• Applicants who have completed Fellowship in another acute care specialty, who have suitable Intensive Care experience, or are dual-training in Intensive Care, may be considered for Senior Registrar posts.
