As a CAD Technician you will take the role in the implementation of Digital deliverables, ensuring all outputs are produced to a high standard in accordance with project requirements.
As a CAD Technician you will be an integral member of the team as it grows.
You will be required to support the engineering teams in current commissions which may be 2D, 3D or BIM Level 2.
We are looking for someone who will take this challenge head on, be part of a dynamic team with big ambitions.
We will be looking to provide capabilities across light, heavy and metro rail systems and work alongside developing signalling and track teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting in developing engineering designs using best practice details and bespoke solutionsContributing to the CAD best practice libraryProviding BIM Level 2 support from creation of documentation, to validation and As Built Close OutManaging 3D CAD models, Contributing in your specialized discipline but also supportiAssist in the delivery and management of projects from technical design to construction stage to ensure compliance and delivered to project standardsResponsible for implementing best practice and consistent processes across the project, this includes liaising with project stakeholders and the supply chain to ensure the correct standards are appliedResponsible for quality processes and quality standards of all drawing deliverablesUtilise Bentley ProjectWise with OpenBuilding Designer and MicroStation for detailed drawing creation and documentation, ensuring the information is fully coordinatedLiaise with discipline task teams leads to ensure output is fully coordinatedLead the production of high-quality design and detailed construction drawings for specific elements of railway station projects, ensuring integration with overall project information modelsProduce drawing output from 3D model information in line with the Component Catalogue and outline information within the BIM Execution Plan (BEP)Ensure all drawings are submitted, meet the project requirements set outSupport and liaise with the BIM Coordinator, BIM Manager and wider project joint venture team in the implementation of deliverables adhering to specified project standards and to facilitate issue resolutionEnsuring accurate and timely information flow and adherence to data management standardsParticipate in quality assurance checks of to ensure they meet the project's accuracy, detail, and the employers information requirementsAssist in monitoring compliance with the BEP and the supporting project standards, contributing to regular reports on BIM deliverable statusWork closely with other disciplines to ensure the 3D CAD models are integrated and coordinated efficiently, attending regular coordination meetings as necessaryProvide technical support and guidance to project team members on BIM-related issues Candidate description:
BIM Technician with at least a minimum of 3 years' experience in major infrastructure/transportation projectsExperience of working in an engineering production environmentRailway, transportation or construction backgroundExperience of delivering projects to UK BIM Standards including BS1192 and ISO 19650Proficient in using Bentley software including ProjectWise, OpenBuilding Designer and MicrostationDemonstrated experience in leading the technical development of 3D CAD components from conceptual design through to detailed construction modelsExperience in working within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the cohesive development of integrated project deliverablesGood knowledge of UK design standards, such as Network Rail, HS2 and TfLExperience working with BEPs, Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDP), Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDP) and Model Production Delivery Tables (MPDT)Ability to adapt to new BIM technologies and workflows, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement Company description and benefits:
