Senior Case Managers will focus on supporting client reintegration into the community, and connecting individuals with appropriate resources and supports. Through active engagement and positive interactions, Senior Case Managers will support visa holders in adjusting to community living.

A range of case management and risk assessment tools will be utilised to support engagement and case management and will work actively with community providers to support clients access accommodation, employment, healthcare, community welfare assistance and rehabilitation services.

Senior Case Managers will be the Department's connection to the visa holder and will develop professional relationships with the person. Clients, including vulnerable individuals with complex issues, will receive the appropriate degree of individualised support. This role involves engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to monitor, coordinate and manage holistic support and overcome barriers to successful community reintegration and achievement of a status resolution outcome.

Our ideal candidate

APS6 Senior Case Managers undertake a broad range of job functions and perform a supervisory role, including supervising teams of Case Managers. They will case manage a small case load of visa holders who have complex issues, coordinate and facilitate case conferences, and address and resolve issues impacting a client's reintegration into the community and achieving status resolution outcomes. Senior Case Managers are required to work directly with clients, building productive relationships, while assessing community safety risks posed by the individual.

Duties and responsibilities

• Ability to adapt communication style to a client or situation - well-developed interpersonal skills to facilitate and promote positive interactions with clients, peers and stakeholders.
• Ability to work quickly, manage competing priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:

• ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
• Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.

In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
