Immigration Programs Division manages the delivery of Australia's temporary and permanent migration programs, in Australia and overseas. The division offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment across a global footprint, with a unique blend of both program management and program delivery functions. Duties and responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of high quality, responsive and efficient temporary visa service delivery outcomes
• Support the Regional Director VIC/TAS in providing corporate, property and staff support for the Hobart office, including high level pastoral care
• Maintain productive working relationships through engagement with key strategic partners, particularly the Tasmanian government
• Lead staff during change and encourage a positive and productive team culture
• Provide strategic advice on a range of issues to senior executives as required
• Forward planning and managing corporate and governance responsibilities for the Section and Branch
• Promote and manage relationships with internal and external clients, stakeholders, and service providers
• Drive business improvements, staff capability, and quality management processes
• Identify, manage, and evaluate risk in all decision making and delivery of outcomes
• Work with a high level of autonomy under broad direction to resolve issues and deliver quality outcomes
• Contribute to and effectively implement policy, procedural, and technological change

Additional information

This position is responsible for the delivery of large Temporary visa programs and ensuring that the teams within Temporary Visas Tasmania successfully deliver a number of growing and high tempo visa programs. This role is responsible for a large team, delivering program and service delivery outcomes, including monitoring workloads and quality control processes to sustain outputs, high quality decision making, drive productivity, and deliver continuous process improvement.

The Tasmanian State Manager is a key leadership role for the Immigration Programs Division and the Department of Home Affairs, expected to contribute significantly to corporate efforts in Hobart.

To be eligible for the position, you must be an Australian Citizen. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:

• ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
• Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
