The Role:

Reporting into the Head of Safety for Viva Energy Retail Group, this role would suit a proactive and experienced HSE Advisor to join our dynamic team.
You will provide leadership, coaching and support to the operation's team to assist in the management of risks and incidents and the successful implementation of the National Safety system and strategy.
The successful candidate will lead from the front and play a critical role to help foster a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation.
This role will act as the key point of contact and support to the Operations team and other internal stakeholders to ensure continued improvement in the areas of responsibility.

Your contributions:

Promote a positive safety culture to help drive continuous improvement in WHS.
Support operations team and other cross-functional areas of the business to apply skills and knowledge to effectively manage WHS.
Support the development, implementation, and review of WHS policies, procedures, and programs aimed to help ensure the safety of people, sites, and environment.
Conduct risk management activities including completion of risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and implement actions to mitigate risk.
Provide expert advice and support on WHS matters to all levels of the organisation.
Investigate workplace incidents and implement sustainable corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Support the development and delivery of WHS training and awareness programs.
Prepare and maintain accurate WHS records, reports, and documentation.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, external auditors, and other stakeholders as required.

What we are looking for:

Tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an operational Work, Health Safety position.
Experience in retail multi-site operations will be highly regarded.
Knowledge and on-job experience working with WHS legislation and standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Some travel will be required to successfully fulfill the role.
