ISP Teacher Role Profile

Purpose of Role
The purpose of this role is to share the responsibility for planning, teaching, and assessments of the subjects assigned that guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. They must take responsibility for promoting high standards of literacy and articulacy as well as set high expectations and standards which inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.

ISP Teacher Key Responsibilities

Plan teaching to achieve progression of learning by identifying clear teaching objectives.
Set tasks which challenge pupils and ensure high levels of interest.
Identify SEN/EAL pupils.
Provide clear structures for lessons, maintaining pace, motivation, and challenge.
Make effective use of assessment and ensure coverage of programmes of study.
Maintain high standards of work and homework.
Use a variety of teaching methods to match approach to content.
Use effective questioning and listen carefully to pupils.
Select appropriate learning resources and develop study skills.
Ensure pupils acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills, and understanding appropriate to the subject taught.

Monitoring, Assessing, Recording, and Reporting

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of personal teaching.
Evaluate own teaching critically to improve effectiveness.
Participate in classroom observation of colleagues.
Submit books, records, or planning as required for monitoring.
Mark and monitor pupils' work and regularly set targets for progress.

Curriculum Development

Develop plans that identify clear targets and success criteria for the development of the school's curriculum.

Directed Time

Ensure attendance in school between stipulated hours and attend all meetings/functions.

Punctuality

Set high standards regarding punctuality and encourage the same from pupils and colleagues.

Safety

Emphasize the importance of safety in all areas of the curriculum.

Communication with Parents

Communicate with parents on a regular basis and deal with day-to-day queries.

Staff Development, ECA & Cover

Attend and participate fully in Staff Development and meetings.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

Minimum Educational Qualifications Required for the Role:

Bachelor's in Education
PG Diploma
QTS

Minimum Years of Experience Required: 2 years full-time teaching experience

Language Skills: English is mandatory
