MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These are primarily intended to guide the employee to the wide range and utmost level of work performance. This is not an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may fall to the post holder but rather a sub-collection of it and shall have an additional responsibility if found deem appropriate.

  • Lead, initiate, plan and execute manufacturing operations that ensure optimization of resources and minimize costs.
  • Ensure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers' expectations.
  • Direct and maintain optimum daily production of the manufacturing plant.
  • Develop and implement efficient strategies to ensure the plant meets production goals and standards that support PRINTING & PACKAGING strategic initiatives at minimal manufacturing costs.
  • Plan, set, analyze and review the benchmarking to ensure OEE accomplishment.
  • Lead Production, Planning, Engineering, Design Center & Prepress team in their area of responsibility to ensure smooth operations.
  • Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, considering operational needs. Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving.
  • Review and update the SOPs to improve efficiency and minimize quality issues.
  • Enhance manpower utilization within departments and processes to ensure succession planning and schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies.
  • Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume. Coordinate with the finance team in planning budget and provide all costings (accurate, timely and verifiable) and conduct variance analysis to check the budget variances.
  • Ensure that collective bargaining agreements are effectively administered and that employee grievances are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Continuously improve safety records by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas. Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department. Ensure that the function operates in accordance with the health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical and administrative guidance to the team for efficiency, quality, timely and cost-effective production of job orders.
  • Provide technical support to staff directly or as required by the concerned department to understand customer requests/requirements for new or revised projects.
  • Maintain individual skills, keeping up to date with the latest production and production management concepts.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual and statutory requirements in the areas of quality, security, environment, asset management and production.
  • Ensure full personal and team commitment to company policies and visions by hard work and cooperation with all company staff, suppliers, customers' contractors or agents.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Reporting Authority from time to time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma / B.E in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / B.E in Printing Technology
  • 12+ years of experience in a high-volume production environment in hardcore offset printing and packaging manufacturing of folding cartons, with 8+ years of managerial experience.
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Experience in machine/equipment acquisition and installation
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret company procedures, technical documents, engineering drawings and governmental regulations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with pressure in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of design and implementation of operational excellence tools
  • Attended Orientation and ISO related trainings.
