The British Embassy in Dubai has a vacancy for a full-time UK Trade & Investment Team Co-ordinator for the UAE.
The Co-ordinator reports to the Deputy Director of UK Trade & Investment in Dubai - a team which is responsible for supporting UK companies looking to develop their export potential in the UAE.UKTI is the UK Government department that helps UK-based companies succeed in the global economy.
UKTI's aim is to enhance the competitiveness of companies in the UK through overseas trade, and to attract a high level of quality foreign direct investment into the UK.Main duties and responsibilities:
Management of UKTI's Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS).Delivery of UAE specific UKTI marketing requirements.Operational management of the UAE scorecard.Lead on special projects as required.Allocate OMIS orders to the team, liaising with sector leads as appropriate.Quality control all reports, both at contract stage and final submission.Monitor team work load, reassigning OMIS work as necessary.Reconcile our OMIS statistics with those from headquarters - issuing sector breakdown and running balance against targets statistics on a monthly basis to the team.Monitor OMIS strategy, ensuring that revisions to policy are communicated to the team.
Look for opportunities to share best practice both in the UAE and the wider region.Co-ordinate the supply of all UAE marketing collateral, providing relevant material to sector teams on request.Key selection criteria & competencies:
Communication and influencing - highly skilled in conveying information accurately and concisely, adjusting style according to purpose and audience.Working with others - ability to foster strong team-working, valuing diversity and inclusion.Customer Focus - understands and focuses on customer needs.Delivering Results - a proven track record of delivering results to a high standard within tight deadlines.High levels of initiative and the ability to work without close supervision.Flexible, resilient under pressure.Minimum Qualifications:
At least 3 years' experience in an organisational role, preferably in a multi-cultural working environment.Fluent written/oral English.Strong IT computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office and Internet.Previous experience of UKTI or business development work highly desirable.Working Hours and Remuneration:
The Embassy offers an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, including:
salary of AED 12,723 per month, inclusive of all allowances, Band 14; five weeks vacation each year; free on-site parking and free access to on-site swimming pool, gymnasium and sports facilities.Conditioned working hours are 38 hours per week.
Standard working hours are from 07.30 am until 2.30 pm Sunday to Thursday.
The position holder should be flexible in their approach to hours worked as these will be dictated by operational needs.The successful candidates will be required to undergo security vetting procedures.Potential candidates for the position will be invited to take a short written assessment.
