Project Accounting Supervisor

Job Purpose:

This position has primary responsibility of ensuring projects are managed in accordance with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and company policies and procedures. The incumbent should have deep knowledge of multiple subject areas or disciplines; thorough understanding of business objectives, priorities and strategy for own area; and understands industry practices and competitors. He/she prioritizes work to meet project/team deliverables. This role impacts the function/department through responsibility for the delivery of end results; may include handling multiple projects and processes.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Performs highly complex accounting tasks providing specialized analyses in various accounting functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Project Accounting and the like.
Develops and recommends complex accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls.
Analyzes financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures (includes project accounting specific analyses where required).
Develops and/or modifies major policies and procedures for financial reporting and cost analysis in specialized areas.
Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries, and accounting classifications assigned various records.
May provide work leadership to lower level accounting personnel on complex assignments, projects or tasks.
May review their progress and work for adequacy, method of procedure.
Coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions.
Job Requirements:

B.S. or B.A. in Accounting, Business Administration, a related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 8+ years of Financial accounting experience preferably in project accounting environment.
Familiarity with the Oracle Financial System preferred.
Self-motivated professional with ambition & drive to succeed.
Hardworking and a team player.
