Roles and responsibilities The department of Information Technology in the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) at Ajman University invites applications for a full-time Assistant / Associate Professor in Information Systems to start in the Fall of 2023 / 2024.
Candidates applying for this position should have a distinguished track record in research and a solid commitment to service, mentoring, teaching, and making an impact in interdisciplinary research . The successful candidate will be appointed to the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems program.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in teaching information systems courses and, in particular, courses relating to e-Health and Telemedicine, Enterprise Systems, IT Project Management, and IT Resource Management . The candidate is also expected to teach other IS courses such as E-Marketing, E-Commerce, Business Intelligence, and System Analysis and Design. The candidate must have a strong research background. Only candidates who hold a Ph.D. in Information Systems will be considered.

The selected applicant will be expected to:
Develop and teach undergraduate courses in Information Systems Engage in innovative and technology-based approaches to learning and teaching Publish high-quality research in leading internationally recognized journals Participate in committees at the departmental, college and/or university levels as assigned Actively engage in promoting the growth of the Ajman University Ability to provide consultancy service to researchers and the business community.

Desired candidate profile
Desired Candidate Profile: Assistant Professor in Information Systems Education:
Ph.D. in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are a plus.
Experience:
Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level in Information Systems or related disciplines. Research experience in areas such as data management, cybersecurity, system development, or information technology.
Key Skills:
Strong understanding of current trends and technologies in Information Systems. Ability to design and deliver engaging and effective course materials. Proficiency in research methodologies and statistical analysis.
Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Strong mentoring abilities to guide students in academic and career development. Collaborative mindset for working with colleagues across disciplines.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) and database management systems (e.g., SQL). Experience with emerging technologies such as cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence.
Personal Attributes:
Passion for teaching and commitment to student success. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. Active engagement in professional development and academic research.
Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Systems. Conduct research and publish findings in reputable journals. Participate in departmental and university service activities, including curriculum development and committee work. Advise and mentor students on academic and career-related matters.
