Roles and Responsibilities

Ensure our guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile. Meet and serve our guests showing empathy and care. Willing to listen and support them with an attitude based on the IKEA values.
Lead by example and be a good ambassador for the IKEA store in all contact with our guests, giving them a good reason to return.
Always look at our store through the eyes of our customers. Have a daily dialogue with our guests to get continuous feedback about their experiences and learn more about their needs, then act based on their input.
Meet the needs of customers by being understanding and sensitive to diverse customers, initiating and developing effective working relationships, and establishing trust and confidence.
Determine customers' requirements and assist them in their orders.
Maintain contact and advise customers on news or recently received items of interest, following up on quotations sent to convert them into actual sales.
Provide the highest level of Customer Service.
Empower and encourage the team to take immediate action to meet the needs of guests and provide input on how to continuously improve our interactions with them.
Ensure our guests have a great shopping experience throughout the day.
Commercial
Promote the sales of products by spotting and seizing sales opportunities, offering alternative solutions to problems, and suggesting add-on sales to achieve established sales targets.
Suggest means of sale improvement to the supervisor and determine 'slow moving' or 'non-selling' items to suggest sales actions.
Maintain a full display of products via merchandising methods laid down by the company. Remain aware of developments in the local market by being attentive to information from customers, advertising, promotions, and making scheduled market visits to maintain the company's competitive advantage.
Keep updated on changes in the company's product range and inform the Sales Manager of any customer problems/comments or gaps in the product range.
Operations
Conduct a daily detailed inspection of the assigned area to review the availability and positioning of price labels, product information tags, and other communication media.
Review daily stock levels on all products in the assigned area and recommend orders to the Shopkeeper.
Coordinate with the Procurement Executive for information pertaining to stocks in the assigned area.

Customer Assistance and Sales:

Provide detailed product knowledge to help customers make informed purchasing decisions, highlighting features, benefits, and value propositions.
Upsell or cross-sell products based on customer needs, helping to maximize sales and meet store targets.
Assist customers with any issues or complaints, ensuring a positive shopping experience and customer satisfaction.

Product Knowledge and Demonstration:
Stay well-informed about the store's products, including new arrivals, best-sellers, and promotions.
Demonstrate products, explain their uses, and offer solutions to customers' needs.
Keep up-to-date with product features, functions, and specifications to provide accurate information.

Sales Targets and Performance:
Meet or exceed sales goals set by management, such as daily, weekly, or monthly targets.
Track personal sales performance and aim to consistently improve in areas like upselling, average transaction value, and customer retention.
Participate in sales promotions and events to drive foot traffic and sales.

Cash Handling and Transactions:
Process customer transactions at the register, handling payments through cash, credit cards, or other methods.
Provide accurate change and receipts, ensuring that the transaction is completed correctly.
Manage cash drawers and maintain accuracy in reporting sales, returns, and exchanges.

Inventory Management:
Assist in stock replenishment and ensuring that shelves are fully stocked with products.
Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in restocking items as necessary.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management or stock personnel when additional stock is needed.

Store Presentation and Maintenance:
Maintain the store's visual merchandising, ensuring that products are neatly displayed and organized according to company guidelines.
Ensure that store displays are clean, appealing, and well-organized to encourage sales.
Assist in the opening and closing of the store, including basic housekeeping duties and ensuring the store is ready for customers.

Customer Relationship Management:
Build rapport with customers to encourage repeat business and foster brand loyalty.
Promote loyalty programs, special offers, or membership cards to customers.
Handle customer inquiries, returns, or complaints professionally, ensuring a satisfactory resolution.

Team Collaboration:
Work with other sales associates and store management to achieve common sales objectives and maintain a collaborative team environment.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and sales strategy discussions to stay informed and contribute ideas for improvement.

Promotional and Marketing Support:
Support in-store promotional campaigns by setting up displays, handing out flyers, and informing customers about discounts or special events.
Ensure that promotional materials and signage are prominently displayed and up to date.
