Roles and Responsibilities

We are currently seeking passionate and dynamic Maintenance professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative solutions to our guests.
As a Carpenter, you are responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard using carpenter's hand tools and power tools. Your role will include key responsibilities such as:

• Carry out maintenance and repair works as required.
• Carry out day-to-day maintenance within the hotel building where problems of a carpentry nature occur.
• Fix shelving and cabinet construction.
• Fix door locks and security items, as well as various types of windows and glazing.
• Partition woodworking machinery and minimal general building work.
• Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace them using hand tools.
• Finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses and buildings, using paint, hand tools, and paneling.
• Fill cracks and other defects in plaster or plasterboard and sand patch, using patching plaster, trowel, and sanding tool.
• Carry out all works as per the country's technical regulations and safety standards.

Skills Education, Qualifications & Experiences
You should ideally be a skilled carpenter with a high school qualification and a good knowledge of carpentry, building maintenance, workplace safety, and safe lifting and handling procedures. A good command of English and the ability to find faults and rectify systems are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Construction and Installation :

  • Constructing and installing structures, fixtures, and frameworks made of wood, metal, and other materials.
  • Building walls, roofs, floors, doors, windows, and cabinets based on architectural plans or blueprints.
  • Installing wooden flooring, trim, paneling, and other decorative elements in residential, commercial, and hospitality properties.

• Woodworking and Joinery :

  • Creating detailed woodworking pieces such as custom furniture, cabinets, or shelves for hotels, restaurants, or office spaces.
  • Performing precise cuts, joins, and shaping of wood using various tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and drills.

• Repairs and Maintenance :

  • Repairing wooden furniture, doors, windows, and structures that may have been damaged over time.
  • Fixing or replacing wooden parts in existing buildings, such as broken doors, worn-out floorboards, or damaged windowsills.

• Blueprint Reading and Project Planning :

  • Interpreting blueprints, sketches, or specifications to understand the scope and design of a project.
  • Planning and measuring the materials needed for each project, ensuring everything is cut and shaped correctly.
  • Estimating material costs and labor requirements for carpentry tasks.

• Framing and Structural Work :

  • Building the framework for structures, including houses, office buildings, or commercial establishments.
  • Erecting wooden frames for walls, ceilings, and roofs, ensuring they are level, plumb, and square.
  • Installing insulation, drywall, and other materials in conjunction with carpentry work.

• Custom Carpentry :

  • Creating custom furniture, cabinetry, and other woodwork that fits specific client needs or architectural styles.
  • Collaborating with designers, architects, or clients to bring custom projects to life.
