Job summary
MISSION:
Responsible for overseeing the installation and inspection of rotating and static equipment, ensuring that all mechanical activities are executed according to project specifications, safety standards, and within defined timelines.
TASKS:
Mechanical Installation & Supervision
Supervise the installation and alignment of compressors, turbines, gearboxes, pumps, blowers, and other rotating equipment as per engineering drawings and installation manuals.
Oversee the installation of equal flow distributor trays, mixing trays, catalyst/support grids inside reactors and vessels, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety regulations.
Ensure that all mechanical installations are carried out to the highest quality, in accordance with industry standards such as ASME, API, and other relevant codes.
Inspection & Quality Control
Conduct inspections during the installation process to ensure the proper functioning and alignment of mechanical equipment.
Review and ensure compliance with technical documentation including DWG, IOM, ITP, ASME, API MS, and FRA.
Ensure that all project deliverables meet the required standards and client expectations.
Catalyst Loading & Handling
Supervise the loading and handling of catalyst materials in reactors and vessels, ensuring the proper use of vacuum and manual loading techniques.
Plan and coordinate the safe and efficient movement and placement of catalysts or other materials within project timelines.
Health & Safety Compliance
Ensure all mechanical work is performed safely, adhering to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and regulations.
Monitor and ensure that confined space entry and other hazardous activities are performed under safe conditions, with proper monitoring of oxygen and LEL levels.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain and update project documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness of mechanical drawings, installation manuals, inspection reports, and safety records.
Prepare regular reports on mechanical activities, progress, and any issues encountered during the installation and inspection processes.
Team Leadership & Coordination
Supervise and provide technical guidance to the mechanical team on-site, ensuring proper coordination between different disciplines and project activities.
Coordinate with other departments and project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of mechanical work.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
10+ years of experience in Mechanical Rotating & Static Equipment installation and inspection in refinery, petrochemical, or hydrocarbon facilities.
Proven experience managing installation of compressors, turbines, gearboxes, pumps, blowers, and other related mechanical equipment.
In-depth knowledge of installation, alignment, and inspection techniques for rotating and static equipment.
Previous experience in the UAE or Gulf region is preferred, with a valid residency status or availability in the UAE.
Fluent level of English, written and spoken.
