Job summary
MISSION:
Responsible for overseeing construction projects in refineries, petrochemical plants, and hydrocarbon facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of EPC contractor standards and specifications, with a focus on managing installation and inspection processes for rotating and static equipment.
TASKS:
Mechanical Installation & Inspection

Oversee the installation and alignment of compressors, turbines, gearboxes, pumps, blowers, and other rotating equipment as per engineering drawings and installation manuals.
Supervise the installation of equal flow distributor trays, mixing trays, catalyst/support grids inside reactors and vessels, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
Ensure that all mechanical installations are executed in accordance with ASME, API, and other relevant industry standards.

Rotating & Static Equipment

Lead the inspection, installation, and alignment processes for rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, and turbines, ensuring proper functioning and alignment.
Oversee catalyst loading operations, including vacuuming, spreading, and placement of catalyst materials inside vessels and reactors.

Project Management & Coordination

Work closely with EPC contractors, ensuring that all work complies with safety standards, project specifications, and codes relevant to onshore projects.
Manage project timelines, resources, and priorities to ensure project milestones are met efficiently and safely.
Coordinate with different teams to ensure that project documentation such as DWG, IOM, ITP, ASME, and API standards is maintained accurately and up-to-date.

Health & Safety Compliance

Supervise confined space activities, ensuring that oxygen and LEL levels are monitored and safe for workers before entering the confined space.
Ensure that all safety measures are implemented, adhering to project safety criteria, and oversee site safety protocols.
Promote a safe work environment and ensure no lost-time accidents or injuries occur on-site.

Technical Documentation & Compliance

Familiarize with and manage technical documentation, including DWG, IOM, ITP, ASME, API MS, and FRA.
Ensure that all mechanical construction work is documented properly and that reports are prepared according to project requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
10+ years of experience in Mechanical Rotating & Static Equipment installation and inspection in refinery, petrochemical, or hydrocarbon facilities within the Oil & Gas sector.
Experience managing EPC contractors and familiarity with onshore project standards, safety protocols, and specifications.
Previous experience in the UAE or Gulf region is preferred, with a valid residency status or availability in the UAE.
Fluent level of English, written and spoken.
