Roles and Responsibilities

An Accommodation Attendant ensures the cleanliness, comfort, and functionality of guest accommodations in settings such as hotels, resorts, hostels, or other lodging facilities. Here are the key skills and attributes required for this role:

1. Cleaning and Maintenance Skills

• Proficient in cleaning techniques for various surfaces and materials.
• Knowledge of using cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies safely.
• Attention to detail to ensure rooms meet cleanliness and presentation standards.

• Efficiently completing assigned tasks within time constraints.
• Prioritizing duties during peak periods to meet guest demands.

• Responding promptly and courteously to guest requests.
• Maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with guests.

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.

• Ensuring all guest amenities (e.g., towels, toiletries) are restocked.
• Checking for and reporting any maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures, leaks).
• Inspecting rooms thoroughly to ensure they meet the facility's standards.

7. Knowledge of Health and Safety

• Familiarity with hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Adherence to safety regulations while handling chemicals and equipment.

8. Problem-Solving

• Addressing minor issues (e.g., stains, spills) independently.
• Reporting significant problems to the appropriate department promptly.

9. Flexibility and Adaptability

• Adapting to schedule changes or additional responsibilities.
• Willingness to work on weekends, holidays, or during irregular hours.

10. Team Collaboration

• Working harmoniously with other attendants, supervisors, and departments.
• Assisting teammates during high-demand periods or in challenging situations.

• Prepare all the rooms or beds for new arrivals.
• Report all maintenance/repair requests to the Housing Supervisor/Team Leader.
• Conduct monthly inventory of furniture, fixtures, appliances, linens, cleaning materials, etc. as applicable.
• Ensure that proper key controls are in place.
• Report any fire or safety hazard to Housing Supervisor/Team Leader.
• Follow and recommend measures to minimize all wastage of materials and amenities used in the accommodation.
• Provide overall assistance to P&C as required.
• Keep all equipment clean, tidy, and well maintained as per the Accommodation Operations Manual, including proper and secure storage.
• Carry out special tasks according to the assignments.
• Report any damaged or missing items to the General Cleaner Supervisor for action and follow-up.
• Keep all keys signed out in a secure manner and return them at the end of the shift to the ambassador in charge.
• Ensure that all team members enjoy their stay within the accommodation compound, being offered cleanliness and hygienic service always.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Housing Supervisor/Team Leader.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Housing or Housekeeping.
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge in Excel would be an added advantage.
• Should be able to work with minimum supervision.
